Kenya
Amboseli · Masai Mara · Nairobi
Kenya's finest safari experience — elephants beneath Kilimanjaro in Amboseli, the Big Five in the Masai Mara and the cosmopolitan energy of Nairobi, all in pure luxury.
Your Asante Tours guide meets you at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transfers you in comfort to your luxury hotel in the heart of Karen — Nairobi's most elegant suburb, named after Karen Blixen herself.
After settling in, join your guide for a welcome dinner and full briefing on the extraordinary days ahead. Your safari begins here — over fine Kenyan cuisine and a glass of something well deserved.
A morning among Nairobi's most beloved landmarks — the Giraffe Centre, where you hand-feed endangered Rothschild giraffes from a raised platform, then the Karen Blixen Museum, set in the farmhouse that inspired Out of Africa.
After lunch, your guide drives south through Maasai country. The landscape flattens, the sky expands, and Kilimanjaro slowly reveals itself above the horizon. Arrive at your private bush lodge at dusk as the first stars appear over the plains.
Rise before dawn. As light breaks, Kilimanjaro emerges from the clouds and beneath it, Amboseli's legendary elephant herds move across the golden plains. One of the most photographed and breathtaking scenes on the African continent.
Your expert guide knows these elephant families by name — individuals like Tim, whose tusks swept the ground, defined Amboseli for a generation. Afternoon game drive focuses on the swamps, where elephants wade chest-deep surrounded by egrets and kingfishers.
A full day in Amboseli with two game drives. Morning targets the predators — lions scan the plains from termite mounds while cheetah streak through open grassland. This is one of the finest settings on earth to watch cheetah hunt.
Afternoon: an optional visit to a traditional Maasai manyatta — one of the most authentic cultural encounters in East Africa. Red shukas, beaded jewellery, the ancient jumping dance, and stories of a life lived in harmony with the wildlife around them. Sundowners at Observation Hill as Kilimanjaro glows in the last light.
An early morning game drive in Amboseli, then your private charter flight whisks you northwest to the Masai Mara — a 40-minute journey that condenses what would be a gruelling road trip into a scenic aerial view of Kenya's great plains.
Arrive at Angama Mara on the Oloololo Escarpment — 500 metres above the Mara basin, with views stretching to the horizon in every direction. Lunch on the viewing deck. Afternoon game drive into Big Five territory as your Mara guide introduces you to the reserve.
The Masai Mara at its most spectacular. An optional dawn hot air balloon drifts silently above the plains — lions finishing the night hunt, elephants at the river, the Mara spreading to every horizon in amber and gold. A champagne breakfast in the bush follows your landing.
Afternoon game drive to the Mara River — the legendary crossing point where wildebeest charge through crocodile-filled waters during the Great Migration. Even outside migration season, the banks are packed with hippos and enormous Nile crocodiles. Maasai cultural experience at sunset.
A final full day to savour the Mara. Early morning — the golden hour — is prime predator time. Your guide tracks the resident lion prides and the Mara's famously elusive leopards through the riverine forest along the Talek River.
Mid-morning bush picnic in the heart of the reserve. Afternoon at leisure on the escarpment — perhaps a conservancy walk with a Maasai guide, or simply sit on your private tent veranda as giraffe drift through the tree line below. Farewell dinner under the African stars.
One final morning game drive or a lingering breakfast on the escarpment as the Mara wakes below. Eight extraordinary days — elephants at Kilimanjaro's feet, lions at golden hour, the endless Mara sky that makes every other sky feel ordinary.
Your charter flight returns you to Nairobi in time for your international connection. Your guide accompanies you to the departure terminal. Asante sana — thank you, Kenya.

★★★★★
Perched on the Oloololo Escarpment — the very site photographed in Out of Africa — Angama Mara offers 360° views across the entire Mara basin.
